Default holy smokes, just struck a deal on some heads, now i need a cam choice

looks like i am going to be geting some heads, just struck a deal on some MMS stage 3 6.0 blower heads, good springs(not mms) titainum retainers, 2055 intake and 157exhaust. 70cc chamber(drop me to 8.9-1 cr.

come with a flow chart comparing them to a mti stage 2 ls6 head, lots of flow between .200 and .550 lift and i dont see having a larger cam than .550 or so. this thing is going to run hard, i wouldn't be suprized if i had the heads before i got a tranny.

any sugestions for a cam, thinking something like this, but it seems like it might be a bit too much.

Thunder Racing Custom Split Pattern Camshaft for Nitrous/Supercharger applications- 224/227 .563/.569 114 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

or what about this one, it might be too mild.

Comp Cams LS1 Camshaft - 216 / 220 .525 / .532 114 LSA 1300-6300 RPM Power

i need help!!

Sounds good!! More Powah!!

I would go with the second cams duration and the first cams lift. It would idle nice and take advantage of the heads flow potential at higher lifts.

How much boost are you going to run because 8.9:1 cr is low if your not planning on turning up the boost. I would run 10+ with that type of cr.

Then your gonna want to fab up an intercooler or run water/alky injection to get those boosted air temps down.

Do you want to sell those 41# injectors? I have a set of SVO 42#(50+ @ 58psi) injectors I could trade ya.

Something spilt duration like that would be great. I love the midrange power in my cam. Anything above a 220 you are gonna lose some low end but you got that tranny with big stall so The comp cams sounds pretty good. You are going to get a good idle with 114lsa, the 112 I have lopes alittle and move your power band down a touch Don't use rockers, it just shifts your RPM powerband up higher. With a stock bottom end, past 6500 is pushing it hard I think. Anything with a 4 degree split should work well. You should go around .55 or so lift to take advantage of the heads. The exhaust on mine is .57 Give a few tuners a call, they would help you out greatly.

i backed out on the heads. i don't know what i was thinking last night, i don't have the cash to get a heads and cam project done. i just saw a set of heads that are perfect for me at a discount and started planing but after looking at my check book i think i will go back to that 50shot i have been talking about.

heads and cam next year, 50shot soon.

Doh!...I hate when that happens.

I think that 50shot will hold you over for a while.

50shot and a tranny will be good for awhile, i got to go beat it some on friday and it is feeling strong and i am sure it isn't even a mid 13 yet. i have always thought a vehicle will never be fast enuff but i am starting to wonder about that, i think i might actualy hit a point where it is fast enuff. 12's might be enuff for me.

lol, what do you think about this cam for me :
99-224/227-114 Thunder Racing Custom Split Pattern Camshaft for Nitrous/Supercharger applications- 224/227 .563/.569 114 LSA (This cam will check in the 226 range on the exhaust lobe.) 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

I am also putting on a set of pacesetter shorties (high temp coated) and a tune from allen of course. Would it do ok with the stock stall or would I screw myself? The cam would be free as well as the install.
