My bad, I didn't realize I brought it back from the dead. I saw the 23rd and figured it was last week. Oh well, that'll teach me to pay attention. Anyways, so now that it's been nearly a year, what seems to give poeple the best bang for the buck for the air intake mods?

I'm thinkin about getting one of the $30 filter kits with the "box" and weatherstripping to keep the hot engine air out. Then I was thinking about having a local exhaust shop make the air intake tube (if possible). Then maybe (big maybe), I might do the scoop in the tow hook idea.

My goal is to improve fuel mileage more than performance, have any of these methods been proven to be a waste of time and money?

(PS - I've been searchin for a few days and haven't really come to any good conclusions)

Thanks,
Jesse

I say save the money you intend on spending on this contraption and put it towards gas. I really doubt that any of these performance mods will do anything at all to improve gas mileage....except maybe a custom tune. i have monitored my gas mileage for 2 years, and done several mods such as exhaust, programmer, intake,...and my gas mileage still remains (on average) around what it has ever been.
