I dont know about the static electricity but the IAT's are staying cool. Sure it will heat soak like anything will when idling for prolonged periods, but they drop very quickly. The IAT's are usually in between 60 and 70* when the outside temperature is 70 to 80*.

Sorry after some research I know what I was thinking. When I was in home building our plumbers would talk about it and some regulations they had when using it for exhaust duct where material would be moving through, such as dust collection.

However I did also find out that it is ok to use PVC as a CAI just watch that it doesn't melt. When it burns/ melts it releases a toxic chemical I wouldn't want in my truck cab. But all in all it looks good.

It might, I don't know what kind of pressure it is rated for. I know if you use PVC for compressed air according to OSHA, above ground PVC used with compressed air must be concealed in a conduit if more the 100 PSI is applied, due to if it were to shatter. Honestly, after doing some research, i believe using PVC for CAI piping will be fine if it does get to hot.

Works GREAT! Throttle response is much better and it did fine on quite a road trip today....540 miles. Little rock to Atlanta, Stopped in Birmingham to fuel up and check it and it was un phased. I put a piece of plastic in between the radiator hose and the tube to prevent direct contact and it hasn't had a problem at all.

Hey guys , the black sewer pvc You are talking about is called ABS . I don't believe it would be any different as far as burning , but would be pretty easy to test . I am considering running a tube to my a/c evaporator and see how much fuel/air can be squeezed in at 35 or 40 deg f intake air temp . Somewhere I read that for every 10 deg cooler iat , You gain 2 or 3 hp . I'm not remembering the hp gain #'s correctly though . Anyone know this gain amount or where to read on the subject ?

good idea chris but wouldnt you have to run the a/c ? if so,how much power does the a/c rob from ya ? how cold would you have to make the air for it to start being a positive after you get past what the air conditioner takes from ya after the modification ? hope i worded that right so u understand what i am tryin to say.how takin a old heater core and plumbing up hose and a tank with a small 12 volt circulating pump and in the tank fill it with dry ice and water and circulate the water thru the heater core and the intake pull air thru the heater core. key is keep all that as light as possible and ya might have alittle power. cold air allows you to add more fuel. more fuel means more power. leaner is not always meaner.
