went to Lowes, its all plumbing pipe(pvc), i used 2-30* elbows 1_90* rubber ninety, the white plastic thing in the bottom of my air box is a 3"pvc connecter.and a couple of short pieces of white pvc 3", painted the pvc black so it would blend end with everything else down there.,glued it all together and wha-la ram air. held it in with some heavy duty tie wraps. thing won't budge.
now i unbolted the plate that the air box sits on and did most of the work out side of the engine compartment, then when i could i slid everything that would fit down the opening.then added the ninety and sucured it to the pvc with the straps that you screw tight(cant think of the name of the strap at the moment)took a little while to fab everything but had it done in a day.

also 1 or 2 couplings to connect the pipe together.cant remember how many. look at the pics, you should be able to see how many where used.also i used pvc because the dryer tube that everybody else is using has ribs down the length of it.pvc is smoother which in my opinion cuts down on turbulance.

From all of my research over the years, ram-air, be it on cars, trucks, or even motorcycles, doesn't come into play until about 100 mph. And even then, the gains are small until about 125 mph or so.

So therefore, this is just another "placebo effect".

um i hate to disagree, i have noticed a great deal of diffrence with the ram air. granted it only is felt while driving over 55mph. i would love to take you for a ride in mine for a demonstration but if its 125mph you want to see, how about i take it up to 140?

he is right, TONS of SCIENTIFIC studies have shown that the effect of "RAM AIR" isn't truly affective until very high speeds. and if you're gonna go 140 in that truck you'll need a LONG way to do it.

ok ok ok, i will give in, even though i disagree just alittle bit. i agree with what you are saying about ram air only comin into affect at high speeds, just wish i could give you a demonstration so you could explain what the difference is.
so i will not turn this into a "BULLIT" post.
o and btw i think the beltway around houston is long enough.

havent hit 140 yet speedo only goes to 100, but i have hit the 128 speed limit when i had the hpp3

I did this on my Avalanche. Cut a 4" hole in the bottom of the airbox and mounting plate... used some dryer-hose hardware, and ran a 4" aluminum dryer hose down to the tow hook area.

It worked great on the highway - it'd pickup and pull real nice (ie: stronger), but it **KILLED** my mileage and driveability around town. The truck was just a DOG. It needed half throttle to keep up with traffic. I got 12.5mpg in a truck that used to get 18.

I duct-taped over the hole I made, and immediately got a LOT of SOTP bottom end power back right off idle.

it is it seems kind of slow for all the mods u have.

yes those are my correct times for now. i have not been to the track since doin a couple of mods. namely LS1-EDIT, and LS1 FANS. that time was before these mods. 02 DENALI and V8 will vouch for those being my times, cause they where at the track the last time i ran.
