Default How bad will I lose???

Whats up everybody!!
I work with a guy who just purchased a 04 RCSB Hemi. He has talked and talked on how fast this thing is, and grant it I drove it and it's pretty quick. Nothing spectacular by all means!!! Well I just set a race with him after work today and was wondering how bad Im going to get beat. I know I'll lose but I want someone who has done this to break it down to me. As far as my truck, it's a ECSB 5.3 stock except for a weld on SLP resonator, still stock in my opinion and a 3:42 peg leg rear, that is it!! Thanks for any input!!

Mike

I beat a guy that was in a RCSB hemi 2wd with a auto trans. I have that same gears, but I have a 2000 RCSB 5.3 with a borla exhaust, ASP pulley, superchips tune, kn FPIK and Free mods. There is a chance that you will might lose because I only one buy 1 1/2 lengths. Get a Nelson tune and a good exhaust and a KN, the difference is night and day. ANd you will show that HEMI your tail lights.

Go pick up a HPP3 at the local speed shop before racing him and it should be pretty even.
I see you are on 20's. That is - for you.

I think it may be quite close. At the track, I see hemi's run conistent 15.5's. An 03 ecsb usually run 15.4 to 15.7 stock, so you may have a chance. Good luck.

I'd say he'll have you by 3-4 lengths by 90 mph or so. Let us know what happens.

The exact same thing with me. I didn't start pulling till up in the rpm range.

I have extended shift points which allowed me to stay in 2nd gear while the HEMI went to third. That is when I really started pulling. With stock shift points I don't think I would've pulled.

I beat a regular cab 2wd hemi that was bone stock about a week ago. pulled him by 3 car lengths. So it could go either way but yes those 20's with the 3.42 are going to hurt you. I also say 1-2 car lengths he will probably get you. put some 4.10 and a posi on their and I think a neslon tune and you should take him... most definetly tell us how it goes. good luck.

I beat a RC Hemi a couple of weeks ago and I swore it was the driver but I havent had a chance to get another one! I have 03' 4.8 ECSB 3.42(untill Friday),FIPK2.Flows,93 Nelson tune 0 TM,Transgo+vette, cooler! I beat him by more than a truck length! Good Luck- Ive been tolds same cab size hemi vs 5.3 that 5.3 will beat them evertime and I knew a guy that just went from a 5.3 to a Hemi and he swears his 5.3 is a little faster!
