Default How bout an SS?

I may trade in the HD for an SS.... I really wanted the SS bumpers for the HD and my dad suggested I just buy one, and due to politics this may come sooner then I wanted. So how do the SS owners like their trucks (or did) in stock form???
I really liked my truck for the oversized diff but the SS is purely faster.

I really like mine. Most of the SS owners do. With a few mods, its a runner. Ride quality is much improved over my 99 Z71. I'd buy another one if I had to start over. Its not fast in stock form off the showroom, but with a few thousand miles break in, it gets better. Most SSs run low 15s stock. I haven't hit the 1/4 yet, but I ran a 10.0 in the 1/8th bone stock. Not blazing, but much faster than my Z71 was stock.

Add a Radix for some reliable fun, and you are in the high 13's Makes for a "have it all" kind of truck. Fast and plush.

David you really need a high stall converter on that SS,my Tahoe 5.3 turns 13.20s at 101mph with a Yank 3000 and headers.Your SS would be a beast with a converter.

Sssssshhhhhhh, don't tell him that. He has already spent more $$$ than his wife would like. At first, it was stock SS with a SC. Next thing I know, hes got suspension mods, water injection, custom intercooler....

But yes David, a mild stall will help out. So would a smaller pulley. I'd like to see a set of ASM headers on your truck too. That would really uncork that Radix.

I'd do it if I got a commission.

Actually, next "mod" is LS1Edit. I caved in and got LS1Edit and the Bench Cable (still waiting for the cable to arrive). LS1Edit should keep me busy for a while. I sure hope the PCM isn't locked, I would rather start with something that works, and make changes, than have to do it from scratch.

I dunno about a converter change. It is my daily driver, after all and what I really enjoy is just the daily driving with it. Can't beat the fun of zooming from one light to the next in air conditioned, XM radioed comfort. And still having it civilized enough for the wife to enjoy a afternoon cruise to the mountains. Going to the track is just for testing, bragging rights and a bit of fun .

Then we have that "Project R MotorSports" guy waving pulleys under my nose...

A pulley, headers, AND converter would REALLY wake that truck up.

I think that Project R MotorSports guy can get you all those with one call.

You'd probably drop another whole second off your current time with that stuff.
