Re: How to disable auto door locks?
Get a '00+ truck. They're not a problem on '00+ trucks because when you pull the key the doors unlock. :p
Maybe the dealer could update the PCM to do this on your '99. I don't know what sensor/computer functions know when the key is pulled.

Re: How to disable auto door locks?
Only those with a Tech2 scan tool can turn them off on the 1999 and some early 2000 trucks. Go to your service department and have them look up this TSB:
File in Section: 08 - Body and Accessories
Bulletin No.: 99-08-64-003
Date: April 1999
Subject: Disabling Automatic (Rolling) Door Lock Feature (Service
Procedure to Recalibrate Body Control Module).
Models: 1999 Chevy & GMC C/K Models (Silverado & Sierra)
Labor operation: J6355
Description: PROM - Reprogramming (On Vehicle)
Labor time: 0.3 hr
* The automatic (rolling) door lock feature may be turned off and
covered under warranty on a one-time only basis. The system can be
re-enabled (turned on) again at customer expense.
-------------------------------------------------
Also, I think you can install a BCM from a newer model and you can program them to work 4 different ways.
