How hard to swap a 6.0 in a 5.3 truck???
In my "how to build chevy ls1/ls6's" by Will Handzel, it says that pulling your 5.3 and putting in a 6.0 (lq4) is described as the "easiest motor swap ever". It says the two blocks are externally almost identical and everything will bolt right up to the LQ4 and only a little tuning is required if any for it to work. Someone please tell me this is true. Can a 6.0 be bolted to the 4L60 and hookup up to the 5.3 ecu and actually run?

Just make sure the year of the motor and the transmission will mate up. Early 6.0's have the longer crank or something so that they'll only bolt to a 4l80 but as long as you get an 01 and up motor you'll be fine. Someone correct this if need be

I drove mine around for about 2 weeks with the 5.3 tune still in it with no problems. As mentioned above, make sure it's a 2001-up 6.0 that came with the aluminum heads. The earlier ones with iron heads had a different crank and will not work with the 4L60E.
