Question how to make B&M stall fit?

Just what it says. Yea i know its crazy and may not make sence to most, but i spent $600 on this thing and its just sat around the last year and a half. I need a stall bad and just want to make this one fit.

OK, from what i know you can swap a new 4l60e out to a 700r4, old 4l60e, or turbo 350/400. So the parts i need to make this work are available, just not sure what all i need.

I'm thinking just swap my flywheel with an older style and maybe swap my starter also. This should work right. I could pick up these things at a junkyard for almost nothing, rather than spending another $600 for stall again.

Will an older flywheel bolt right up to our crank with no problems?

Thanks.

Th einput shafts are different on all those trans you listed. It's best to get the right one for your transmission.

The input shafts for the pre-LS1 is the same as the LS1 4l60E. The only difference is the flywheel. And if i change the flywheel i'm sure i'll have to change the starter to match.

I dunno then ... I would think that if the flywheel was a different size all together, it may not be able to hit the starter since there isn't much adjustment in it.

I just dont know if the flywheel will bolt right up, or if it needs some kind of spacer or something. And if the starter is a direct bolt on as well.

you shouldn't have to change the flywheel either. worst case scenario you will have to enlongate/re-drill the converter holes. do be sure to check the "nose" of the converter to make sure it goes into the crank far enough and also that it doesn't bottom out.

The input shaft IS different between the old 700/4l60 and the LS1 4l60e. You would have to change pumps and input shaft assy's and I am pretty sure they don't interchange. I was going to do the other way a while back-put a late model converter in an older tranny, but was told by several trans people that it wouldn't work. Depending on which B&M you have I might be interested in buying it so you can get the right one-I still need one for that 700.

I would just sell the one that you got and buy the right one. I think it would just be easier. Less aggravation too. Just my opinion.

Its the Holeshot 3000 and fits TH700-R4 1984-93 (4l60) & 1993-96 4L60E.

Sending you a PM.

The nose of the convertor is about an inch away from the crank hole it goes in. If the only difference was the bolt holes i would have had it in over a year ago. I need a flywheel from a 95 or so truck and a starter that will line up also.
