Don't even think about a 4l65e holding up to 800hp in a 6500lb truck.I'd say the transmission might stand up to 450hp we're not talking a 3600lb fbody.A 4l80e would be a must.

i dont think any one was thinking about that, what comes in a h2? since it is built on a 2500 platform i figured it had a 4l80e in it but if not then a swap is in order.

I think its all going to come down to the transmission. A solid build stroker will have a nice very large powerband. Throw some good turbo boost on it, and it should easily have enough torque to get moving. A little nitrous would ensure the power level is high enough. I'd work with AFR and see if they would sell you a new prototype 225cc head with the thicker deck surface (would be good publicity for their new heads). 5.10 gears at least with the 37" tires will end hit 6000 rpms in 3rd gear at 124 mph, which should be plenty. A goods strong torque converter will be needed. All this power, trying to move that big H2 will probably strain a good 4L80E, so I wouldn't even mess with a 4L60E. Besides being stronger, the tight gear ratio of the 80E will keep the truck in the meat of the power range after shifts. With these mods it may still have decent daily driver characteristics.
