I have broke mine twice. I am on my third one at the moment. I need to buy an aftermarket one but didnt have the money at the time. This one is prolly on its last leg. When I go to the track spraying a bigger shot I'm pretty sure its over.
I cant believe parish is still on the stock G80 with all the hp he has. WOW!

The 10.5" rear is a weird one. It gets its extra strength from two major things - having the pinion gear supported on BOTH sides by bearings and having a differential with 3 or 4 spider gears instead of only two.
Compare:
8.5/8.6" OEM G80
8.5 OEM G80 installed
9.5" Eaton Posi
9.5" OEM open diff installed
10.5" Eaton Posi
Inside an OEM 10.5" G80
10.5" housing vs. 8.5" gears
10.5" Eaton Posi installed
"Brake-Assisted" launching on a 10.5" Eaton Posi video
The 10.5" has a weight penalty there's no getting around. It's massive, but you end up with something that has no c-clips and can be geared very low without the danger of breaking teeth.
