How many washers? (Transgo question)

How many washers? (Transgo question)
I'm most likely going to be installing a Transgo shift kit and Corvette shift servo this weekend. My question is, how many washers should I use? Especially with the Corvette servo installed? I want a good solid shift I can feel but not annoyingly hard. Also, judging by my mods (you can see them on my website) how much will I be touching into torque management if at all? One more question, I will be removing the Hypertech's shift firmness but should I say "yes" when it asks me about an aftermarket shift kit? What does this setting do anyway? Thanks for any help!

Hey dude just a suggestion, before you install the Transgo, put in the corvette servo and HPP3 shift firmness, and try that. I have this combination and it gives a real nice shift that is hard but not too annoying. Sometimes I can feel the torque management and sometimes it is like it isn't there.

Re: How many washers? (Transgo question)
Are you planning on installing a torque converter in the near future? If so, at least go with two washers if not three. I drove with 3 washers on a stock converter for about 10,000 miles and it does shift HARD, not for the weak hearted. If you plan on keeping the stock converter, I would go 1 or two. The way it was explained to me is, 1 gives faster, more precise shifts, but not too much harder. 2 washers does the above with a harder shift. And 3 shifts HARD. You will notice torque management with the shift kit, especially on your 1-2 shift.

So maybe the Corvette servo and Transgo is overkill? Maybe the servo with just one (1) washer would be the ticket? I've got both the servo and shift kit sitting on my bench right now.
I plan on an aftermarket converter hopefully sometime during summer. Most likely going with a Yank. Not sure what stall yet because I'm not sure what cam will eventually be installed.

I can tell you that w/ no torque management and the vette servo w/ slightly bumped line pressures, the truck will shift very crisp. I drive an M6 and like crisp shifts, but wouldnt want my truck shifting any harder than what my buddy's does w/ the above settings. After adding the vette servo and using corvette line pressure settings, I cant even see the need for a Trans Go w/ a stock torque converter. The servo also firms up the 2-3 slightly and the downshifts are also much firmer. Tow/Haul mode is abusive now

I second cashdude's suggestion. Since it only takes about 30mins, try the servo/hpp combo first. You may be satisfied with that. If not you can procede to install the transgo. This will also give you a better idea of how the TQM is going to act.

I have 3 washers in mine. I also have the Vette Servo but I left out the HPP3 shift firmness. That bitch shifts hard . I got my servo off of e-bay.
