Default How much HP can a 98 350c.i. hold?

im thinking of swapping a 350vortec into my blazer because of how easy the swap is-

I want to pick up the motor this summer and build it if necessary-

Im looking for 430 to 450whp This is WITH NITROUS-

I am wondering how much the pistons/rods/rings/crank can support and if i need to upgrade

The stock head gaskets are good to 450. The stock shortblock will hold 550 as long as you keep the RPM down under 5400. The rods and pistons in these things don't have the problems that Gen-III parts do (broken rod bolts, broken ring lands, piston slap, etc.)
After many years of hard abuse I finally found the weakness of my L31 shortblock - oiling the mains. My only advice to to watch oil pressure, use Mobil-1, and only 5W-30.
The crank has a known weakness in the snout. If you hang another pulley off the front of the stock pulley, like in a dual-belt supercharger, the forward pulley puts to much shear on the crank snout and will eventually fatigue it right off.
