How much n2o w/ whipple?

Default How much n2o w/ whipple?

just finished hooking up a nx wet kit on my truck. i put 50hp jets in for now. think it will be ok with 6psi + 50 shot on 93 pump gas? its tuned pretty close w/ 42lb. injectors and i'm using the stock low octane timing table.

I thought about doing the same thing. From what people told me, tuning would be difficult. I would do a wideband on it. I would think 50 would be pretty safe though. PM Parish8, he had that setup for a while. I think he blew it up though

Hey 454SuperSport, What kind of 1/4 mile times do you think it will run now? An what did it run before the NX kit?

If i remember right parish ran 9psi and a 75 shot with no problems. He tried 9psi and a 100 shot and kept breakin tranys. These engines will handle alot of abuse. Just dont let it run lean or detinate and you will be fine.

i ran 6psi and a 50shot on pump gas many times, it hits freeking hard out of the hole too!!

anything above that i used 100octane. it never blew up. i hit it with 8psi and a 75shot quite a few times, 9psi and a 100shot only twice and the tranny broke.

Blower finally goes on tomorrow hopefully... that is if the tune from Wester's shows up. I wont be able to drive until next week though, Ive got alot going on. I have to put on an alky kit, 11#pulley, and have it dyno and widebanded. I may be gone awhile though, Im working on a security contract that will pay 70K for 3 weeks work At this point it sounds too good to be true. If all goes well I may give Whitt a run for his money!!
Sorry Parish, I just assumed since most make the swap at that point. Did you have any special tuning to accomodate the N2O??

the best times it has went are 13.9 with 6psi and street tires and 13.3 with 9psi and slicks. both times were before the hptuners and 42lb. injectors. Parish, how much do you think the 50 shot will drop me and if you can remember, how much timing were you running WOT with your setup? i was getting 20-22 degrees consistant with no kr or detenation w/ 6psi and 93oct but i have changed the tables to the stock low octane table since then, i need to log again to see where i'm at now.

Wow. Your timing #'s are very good. Sounds like you got that thing running good.
I think parish gained almost a full second on a 50 shot.

seems like i ran a 12.7 with 8psi and a 12.05 with a 8psi+50shot, got to hook though
