yeah you should get a decent amount of power the 6.0 likes the TR224 and the 2800 stall should match up pretty nice. But I would honestly keep the heads you have (317's) and work those than what you want because you are going to lower your chamber. I mean its not a bad choice at all, but I would rather mill the heads you have, polish the ports and you can see some good gains. without spending the money. I think someone around here about three years ago was running about the same and running 12's. but his was a regular cab and stepside. you can probably pound out around 415 hp with a decent tune.

I just picked up a set of 706 heads. Im going to have them worked on. Who do yall recommend to do a P&P job? What price range am I looking at? These have the 61cc combustion chamber so they should raise my compression to around 11-1. Should I stick with the tr224 or would yall recommend something different. Open to opinions.
Thanks
Andy

You would more then likely loose power with the 706(early 5.3 if i remember correctly) they just dont flow as good as the 317's you have(smaller valves ect.). You would increase compression but loose the flow. If you got a set of PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads that would definetly give you a nice gain at a budget cost. Ive heard of 35+rwhp with them over factory ls1 heads. Texas Speed sells them and is a sponsor. You may also have the set you just bought brought to those specs from other sponsors between this site and ls1tech.com. The tr224 would be good cam and still retain some good tq #'s. Could always have something custom specd also.

Texas Speed is showing around 310 cfm intake and 240 cfm exhaust with their stage 2 5.3L heads. This isn't going to be a FI engine so I think that should be plenty.
