How much T.Q. management should be removed?
I am planning on getting a Nelson tune because I have heard rave reviews. I have a 2000 RC SB 5.3 with ASP pulleys, KN FPIK, Borla exhaust and a Superchips tune. I detuned the shift points and got a corvette servo installed trying to be a little easier on the trans. Now the best 0-60 time i can get is 6.8-7.0 which is what it would do practically stock without the tune. What the heck is up? Is the slow times because of T.M. I found out that i wasted 400 on a crappy Superchips tune! Now I am planning on getting a Nelson tune I want to make my truck as fast as it can be how much TQ managment should be removed. What better times can i expect from Nelsons.

with your mods you can go zero tq management and be ok. however, i just had 80 percent taken out of my truck. it feels much better (i also reduced my line pressure to be safe) but i can still feel tq management just a little bit. instead of a big hesitation, i only have a small amount. also, make sure you take out engine abuse mode....

with only a servo in there 80% is the max i would take out. you will need to put in a shift kit to be the safest. it will help apply the clutch packs and hold them to better maintane the shifts. i can tell you that 80% tqm removal is a big difference. oh yay. the nelson tune is awsome.

what happens if you don't take 100 percent tq management out when you install the transgo. i am about to install one in my truck and i was just gonna leave it at 80 percent removed......

I don't understand why you have to have it 100% deleted for a shift kit? TQ mangament takes out timing.
My personal opinion is to leave TM in there and work around it a bit. You will not gain much by removing it other than it "feeling" better. Just like you will not see a gain at the track with a shift kit. It's a feeling thing not a make you go faster thing.
I crack up when I see these ganster wannabes roll by my work going maybe 35mph and chirping 2nd gear because they installed such an agressive shift kit. The stupid *** cars would be lucky to run a 16sec ET but they bark harder than a Radix powered 5.3L regular cab 2wd
