Default How much timing

Hey guys I was thinking about loading the HPP3 with the 160 tstat even though I dont have the 160 tstat. I was just wondering how much more timing this will advance with the 93 octane program, and as long as it isn't really hot outside would this be safe to do? I can't find a shim for my tstat anywhere, if anyone knows how to make me a brass one or one that won't corrode and will make it run about 180 degrees I will send you a few bucks. But would this be safe to do until I get the tstat. Someone said once that the HPP3 was conservative so that gave me this idea.

I tried the 93 tuning w/ 160 stat setting. I have no 160 stat. I have a stock 195 one. It didn't really make any difference in performance. You may want to use Autotap to log to see if you're getting KR or anything bad happening while using that tuning. I never logged my HPPIII while using that tuning, but my crap superchips tuner makes some KR, even when running premium. I was seeing up to 7 degrees of KR using 87 gas!, and up to 3 degrees using 91 gas. It seems to run crispier naturally aspirated with the superchips tuning, but I bet my motor hates it.

Thanks for the reply man. Thats what I was looking for. I think it would be ok as long as the air outside is cool. Too bad I don't have Autotap or anything. I don't even have a computer <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Thanks again I will test it out at the track to see if it makes a difference.
