The different between a free flowing muffler and a factory muffler might be 5-10 hp, nothing to worry about. Guys who freak over flow testing and dyno sheets on mufflers need to focus on better ways of making horsepower IMO.

That never happens!

I run no cats and Long tubes and left a stock muffler to kill the sound for the same reason as you and it does a fairly decent job. You could always add resonators as well.

Well I just found out that Josh from Texas Speed reports they dont make a ORY for my 3500HD 6.0L Crew Cab Dually LT. I dont really want to do anything custom. Sending the headers and ORY back. It will just be a cam and tune.

The 3500 should have "duals" back to the muffler and one bigger tailpipe out the back. I assuming it's the same as the 2500HD stuff but, could be wrong.

Vince - Is the "y pipe" actually two seperate intermediate pipes instead of a true y?

That would require something custom. I wanted to keep things as stock sounding as possible with some performance increase. Now with the headers not working out my reverse split cam might be an issue because reverse split works better with exhaust upgrades.

It appears to be a true Y. It's all mute at this point because I need the truck back tomorrow. I have to help a friend move their things into storage from Ft. Myers to Brandon. I will just have to eat the results for now.
