Pulled harder in the rain? I'd like to see that. All I said was that this kid did not hit 138 in his truck, and that you guys saying your trucks can go that fast are getting your MPH from a speedo that's not accurate.

I'm still waiting for someone to come prove me wrong. Free $100. Rochester ,NY

And I'm not saying a modded truck wont hit 138, I'm saying that ANY 5.3 without a high cap fuel pump and injectors isn't going over 120.

Either way - the truck still has more power, and it's not hitting the fuel cutoff speed of 128 mph, it's just starving for fuel, and cant build any more speed. I have driven a couple of other 5.3's and they do the same thing - so please - someone prove me wrong and take my $100 .

In the video, you'll see 3 numbers on the laptop - the first is RPM, the next is computed speed - this is computed by the overall gear ratio in OD, and will show higher numbers in lower gears. The last is the actual speed from the VSS - you'll notice how off the stock speedo is on GM vehicles - the faster you go the further off they are. GM always shows speeds FASTER than actual. At 65 MPH on your speedo, you're usually going 62 MPH.

Oh yeah - in the beginning of the clip you will hear a rattle - that's wheel hop at 80 MPH.

A bit later you can see that I allow the tranny to hit OD and it stays at 120 MPH, and wont pull any more. Then you'll see it hit third gear again and it pulls up to 122 and sits there.

At the end, you'll see why I have race brakes all the way around

I CAN TELL YOU THIS ANY TIME YOU ARE IN THE LA AREA I WILL STRAP YOU IN MY TRUCK SO YOU DON'T GET SCARED AND RUN THEN I WILL STRAP A TECH 2 IN FRONT OF YOU AND I WILL SHOW YOU OVER 120 IN A TRUCKWITH A FACTOR FUEL PUMP,FACTOR FUEL LINES,FACTOR FUEL FILTER,THEN I WILL TAKE YOUR 100.00.

Anyone ever read car and driver mag? WTF part of drag limited do you not understand? Every car or truck has a top speed that it can reach in stock form due to the amount of drag. The full size late model truck front end is the same, and the 5.3 liter engine in stock form is DRAG LIMITED to 120 mph. That means no matter how much HP your engine is producing, the amount of FUEL it needs to overcome the drag at 120 MPH can NOT be provided by the stock fuel system. Unless your running meth or NOx, no 138 MPH.

So keep your bullchit at school, cuz unless your running aftermarket fuel injectors and pumps, NONE of you are hitting 138 MPH in your trucks. It can't be done.

And arreguy - that's the biggest BS ever - 128 MPH in a stock 4.8l - LMAO.

Anyone in upstate ny who wants to prove me wrong - come to Rochester and take me for a spin and I'll give you $100 for taking me to 138 MPH with a stock 5.3l fuel system.

this guy is clueless he has no idea what he is talking about and I for one am even sorry I got suckered into this moronick thread, I loose intelligence and get irritated every time I see this thread. Let this damn post die die die die
