how strong are the internals of the 4.8L? i'm looking at doing some mods to my 07 but i'm not sure if the internals would handle it. i know the motors will last 500+ miles with maintenance(same as the truck 6.0. i know this as fact. i had trans. companys for customers at my last shop.).

i'm looking at installing a vortech supercharger, cam, heads and intake manifold along with the usual bolt-ons.

i'm trying to stay away from swapping it out for a 6.0 or or a stroker motor.

my goal is to see how much this little motor can put out with factory C.I. and POSSIBLY a stock bottom end.

Whatever they are doing to/with 5.3 6.0 ls1 ect you can do with the 4.8. There is a guy making over 500rwhp on a stock bottem end 4.8 LET IT EAT

It should handle that setup no problem. Foose04 is putting down over 500hp stock bottom, with some serious boost. All of the LS series engines are really durable. I have heard of a guy on another fourm with 513k on his 5.3l. Hell ive got 225k on mine and im pretty rough on that long skinny pedal. I have run full synthetics since i bought it with 64k on the clock 4 years ago.
