How strong is a 5.3 bottom end?
Im giong on deployment before long and will be getting a good chunk of money. My question is how much boost can I push into my 5.3 with a stock bottom end? I plan on either a whipple or radix and a good intercooler. By this time next year I want to be in the top 5 fastest trucks.

Blownchevy, 12psi sounds like what I want. I dont understand how some guys like lotsofn are claiming 13.2s to 13.8s with just bolt ons, no NOS or S/C. And you have some boltons and a Radix.
02gmc, 9.19 with a 4.8 is VERY impressive already. You must be running close to 14 flat. Where are you from? For headers long-tubes make the most power, but some shorties are cheaper and easier to deal with. For a cam try the comp 212/218-114. It is supposed to be worth 40-50 hp.

I am pretty happy with what I have now....Just makeing a few adjustments to the suspention and engine and I should be in the 12's soon. I do not know what the other guys are running with the N/A application too run those numbers....it confuses me ! I must say that it is impresive to say the least!

Are you running an intercooler? Right now my launches are suckin, how much do Hooziers run? I hope that with my current mods, 3000 stall (going on next monday) and some slicks I can be one of the first all motor ext cabs to hit 13s. Then comes the Radix and NOS to hit 11s

Yes the Radix kit is intercooled.
NOS and S/C, you are asking for ! But it will be fun! 11's, that is GREAT! I do not think I am going for that.....I have to keep this truck dependable. The hoosiers ran me 300 bucks mounted .....I am going to run tubes next time and screw the tires to the rim...
do you have any problems with the cats gutted? did you feel that much of an improvement???

I completley removed the Y-pipe, cats and all. I installed some vette O2 sims and I did notice a big improvement in how fast the rpms pick up and quite a bit of top end power. What do you mean screw the tires to the rims?
