HPP3 dyno results

Default HPP3 dyno results

Testing completed....

HPP3 results:

The first three passes of the day were to get some solid baseline numbers.

Peak RWHP N/A: 278.2
Peak RWTQ N/A: 318.0

The next three passes were after HPP powertuning was installed. The power tuning for 93 octane was used along with 160* stat.

Peak RWHP N/A: 291.2
Peak RWTQ N/A: 325.4

Final analysis:

13 RWHP
7.4 RWTQ

The power was made evenly across the entire tested curve and even opens up some above 4700 rpm.

HPP3 = worthwhile mod

I have a HPP3 on my 2002 Sierra 5.3. I was wondering if the truck tends to wnat to choke itself b/c it thinks it is too cold. When I put a computer mod on my 86 vette and a 160 thermostat it kept fouling plugs. Will this happen to the sierra?

Jimmy, a 160F T-stat will typically make our motors run at around 185F, which is not considered "cold". No problems at all, and you should get less knock retard in most cases.

I didn't understand what you were asking for the first time I responded...

291.2 RWHP @ 5200 rpm (from 4700-5400 it makes 290+)
325.4 RWTQ @ 4000 rpm (from 3000-4500 it makes 300+)

I was really suprised how much the programming flattened-out the curves.

HPP3 tuning tends to improve the F-body low/midrange output also. Doesn't do much for higher rpm though.
