Default I broke 2 valvesprings!!!!

well i have prc springs rated to 660 lift they have about 10k miles on them, and my truck started acting funny cutting out up top so i pulled the valve covers and found two broken springs. one on each side. im lucky that they are dual springs the inside spring is keeping my truck running lol.
what causes a spring to break ?
now into the pics

Do you let the truck get up to operating temp before hammering on it?

Just be thankful they are duals I had that happen with the ls6 yellow springs. Not sure on the cause tho mine broke cruising down the road. Were you hammering on it or just cruising?

It will be the same height as the stock springs, unless the valves were ground, valve seats were worked, or the springs are sagging....if it's the first two the installed spring height will be higher, with less chance of coil bind and less seat pressure...if it's the second the springs are weak and the valves are hanging open and the truck will run like a turd...

Were the heads worked, or did you just do cam and springs?...if just cam and springs, the heat cycle question will arise again...

Why wouldn't he have shimed them to recommended install height?
