I need motor swap help
Dont wanna hear the "trade it in for xxx" bs. Simple questions, and I need simple answers. This truck has sentimental value to me, so it won't be sold, also will be a father son project.
So I have a 2011 nnbs 4.3 2wd
I want to do a mild build on a 5.3 or 6.0
So I searched but there isn't **** for the nnbs trucks, seems the 4.3 wasn't very popular. I need to know exactly what needs to be done to swap in a 5.3 or 6.0. I can get the 5.3's from a nnbs all day with under 50k miles for around 800. I know I need the engine(complete), wiring, and a PCM reflash. Is that all? Where I come up short is transmission hookup, motor mounts, Maf, and drive by wire. I'm assuming that as long as its from a nnbs the electrical portion is plug and play. Will my stock y-pipe work with a 5.3 or 6.0? Which motor would be the best bang for the buck? I have 3k cash for the swap, and will be going thru bb for the tune/reflash. What do y'all recommend? I need any helpful input that will help me get it done. What kinda info do y'all have for me?
