I need recommendations for my exhaust.
Hi. I installed long tube a couple weeks ago, went super shitty being i was lifted. Would hit drive shaft on the y piece. I made a custom piece and is in working order now. Except it is to damn loud. It is so tight under there so I dont think I will have room for cats. I would like the truck to be quiet as possible. I am running like a 14-16 in magnaflow. I am planning on getting a longer case magna flow. 24 or 30 inch. Possibly run a resonator as well? Where would you recommend i put it? after the flange where the headers bolt up before the muffer? Loose any performance with it? I would like recommendations on the quietest as possible with performace!

That would be nice and quiet.
The big straight through mufflers like that tent to keep things under control at idle and cruising, but get louder when you put your foot into it.
How is the rest of your exhaust set up? That can play a big role in how loud it is too.
The muffler you have now is fairly small... im not surprised that you think its too loud now. I think it would be a night and day difference with the muffler alone, but if youre dead set on being super quiet the resonator would be good insurance. If it were me I would probably just stick with the larger muffler for now and save the dough. If you feel like you need it after the bigger muffler is in there it should be easy enough to slide it in there.

Have you looked into running maybe a Borla ProXS muffler with a big case? I swapped one into my old RCSB 5.3L after I installed a cam and the tone was night and day between the old 3"/2.5" dual out Magnaflow with the Borla just totally making things much more pleasant in the cab.
Also installed the same Borla S-type muffler in my wife's old 2010 Camaro 3.6L and the sound wasn't very much louder over stock.
Resonator and large case muffler setup should do the trick though.
