i never get to 0% in a year long span, so i just change once a year. I think the manual says change oil at 0% OR every year, whichever comes first.

After reading my description of what the oil life is based on, why would you think that the brand or type of oil would have anything to do with how the computer decides when the oil needs changing?

i just specified brand because i thought it was common knowledge that RP was a synthetic. I've asked hundreds of different people and everyone says 3-4k for conventional oil and 5-8k for synthetic. i thought that your post was saying that your truck had a longer oil change interval than what i considered to be normal, that's all.

the truck is my "recreational" toy. Used to tow the boat, head up to the snow, or just romp around.

My daily driver is a BMW M3. Wayyy better gas mileage than the blown beast of a truck!

Correct, the oil life monitor doesn't know what brand or type of oil is in there, it determines when the oil should be changed solely by the items that you listed...

Quick Reply: I think it's about time to change the oil...
