This is not a flame post or anything, but

I don't understand why my truck isn't in the truck list and is listed in it's own, lonely, hybrid section. These trucks came with a V8. I bet if I would have said I put a 6.0 or 5.3 in my truck I would have been in the normal list. IF you were to modify the hell out of your 5.3, stroked, bored, milled ported LS1 heads, would have a hybrid engine then? What about a turbo, the trucks didn't come with turbos? What about a 1/2 ton truck with a 6.0L, they don't come with one (except the HD 1/2 tons)?

I understand that I already have quite a bit headstart on the power output, LS1 vs Truck Motor, but, everybody calls the truck engine a variant, "almost the same", "the same but iron block", when it comes to comparing them.

So, what do you say, can you put my truck in the truck list and not the hybrid list? Or, call it something cool like the Mutant List <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

If not that's cool, I just wanted to try. At least I'm the fasted hybrid truck. I hope everybody knows I'm going to be the fasted truck on the Truck/Hybrid List. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

The reason I have not added you is this list was orginally designed to track the performance enhancements to 99+ 4.8/5.3/6.0 trucks.

I have attempted to maintain such lists on other boards but it becomes more and more difficult to maintain as no point of reference for those who this section was intended (99+ 4.8/5.3/6.0 based trucks) existed. In considering everyone's want to be on the list I added all those how wanted to be. As time went on the lists were no longer reference tables but lists of in distinguishable data. The main problem was defining where to draw the line once I had allowed vehicles to be on the list which lacked some commonallity...this is why I chose to draw the line here with 99+ 4.8/5.3/6.0 based GM trucks. All the other lists became populated by trucks which shared little or nothing in common and really became useless fo benchmarking.

I admire your accomplishments and feel you have a great project in the works. I wish you the best of luck, but I will not add you to the main list for this reason...sorry.

Its really the drive train that we have in common with farm truck, not the yr model of his truck. He has an LS1 with a 4l60e, I would say that is in line with the other trucks on this site. If he had a 454 or something that is not LS1 based, I would understand. Will people with exotic LS1 based motors be put on this list as well?

I do think he should be on our list. It does take alot of effort to make that conversion, and it is stock LS1 in there. Thats kinda like saying "you cant play with us because you are different .

Now if FarmTruc is happy with the name "Mutant", thats cool too. It does sound better than hybrid.

I do understand your point and that's why I created a home for his information on this list anyway.

As far as exotic motors in the 99+ chassis goes, I don't know...but from other such lists I would have to say yes. How many F-bodies are listed as running stroked 6.0Ls? I hope you can see my point. I really don't want to exclude someone but want to maintain a standard in the list.

I'm still open to suggestion but this is my present reasoning and viewpoint.

but what oxi is saying is that his times and response do various mods will differ from ours because he has a different truck. if i slap a LS1 in a toyota tacoma i bet i'll get some damn good times with just exaust and intake. however, when looking at the truck list, someone might think that exuast and intake on their new truck will get them these results. kinda like false advertising. i guess we could put him on the list if we noted in BIG BOLD ITALIC words that he was a different body style truck. but then like richard said, it would just turn out like every other list he's made. so why not just leave him on the "mutant" list? and at this point in time the mutant will be handing some of us our asses. i wouldn't be upset to be on the mutant list if i had times that good.

I personally use that list to benchmark my times with those of other 99+ trucks. Nothing personal at all...the times that you're posting are *very* respectable and blow my truck out of the water. But there a place for everything, and I feel that the list should stay 99+ ls1 trucks.
