If I gut my cats
I have 100k miles on my truck, I'm wondering if I gut my cats with my mods in my sig, if I'll see any signifigant gains, or if I should wait till I find some LT's? I'm trying desperatly to break into the 14's and with the heat, I need all the help I can get.

I'm thinking about going Wed. You goin? I had some ignition and lifter problems last time, so I really want to see if I can cut a 14.9. I was runnin 15.5 before the cam, tune and exhaust. I want to see your truck run.

I may go wed. if you go. I haven't been in a long time b/c i've been kind of busy. I don't on breaking any records either in this heat. I'll probably be around the 13.3-.4 area which is dissapointing to me.
IMO, I think your tune is holding you back. If you were running 15.5 stock, the tune alone should put you ~15.0's. Then after tuning for cam and exhaust, I'd say 14.6-.7.

Yea, I had it tuned for the cam, so I guess well see. Last time I had a miss I couldn't find, and ended up with a plugged pushrod, so one of my lifters wasn't pumping up. All that is fixed now. I guess if I'm still slow I'll just have to wait till October or something

Cutting my cats off didn't really help et for me but on the highway i could tell the truck just revv'ed out more freely. my cats weren't clogged and they were cut off at 115K but they were very close to being bad. probably another 5K or so and they would have been. LT's will help a lot as well, but don't do the cats if you don't want the exhaust to get louder.
