one of these days i'll install a laptop in my truck and hardwire it in. I bet i could write a program that monitors all aspects of the engine....graphically. i'm not sure what HPtuners does, but i bet it wouldn't be tough.

Well, i have this thing with money, i'd like to spend more on my truck than i actually make, so if i am going to spend lots of money on it then it never hurts to have a little insurance(laptop) to make sure that none of my money leaves the truck in an unorderly 6k rpm through the block kinda way. a friend of mine had $15k leave that way.

well if you can't afford it, don't hop it up. I don't mess with my truck much, not because I don't have the money to, but because I need it to run every morning.

I won't even get a tune until i'm out of warranty.

i run redline oil...and like it, you should consider it. make sure you take care of what you have now. not letting your parts get too hot (e.g. transmission) is half the battle.

heads and cam are where real n/a power comes from. the stock manifolds are almost like shorty headers, they are good enough, but as&m or TOG headers are good...if you're willing to spend the $$
