Default I'm lookin into camming my avalanche!

WHat would be a good cam? I just want some more power, and the sound of a cammed motor.. I dont want to have to buy a new converter. Most I drive my truck around town but it does see a few highway trips a month and I would really like it if I didnt loose any mpg! I know I'm asking alot but I am new to this. My other plans are LT's and a custom tune. I figure with a good cam and these other mods I could make somewhere around 75 more HP.

Also how much $$$ am I lookin at?

man I know you're a regular on gmfs and even over there, there's a thread every other day about this. Do a quick search and you'll find literally hundreds of threads asking this same question.

everyone is probably going to recomend either a 212/218 210/216 or a 206/212

would the 206/212 give me any difference in sound ??

One more stupid question while I'm at it.. How much of a stall does the trail blazer convertor give? I may just add alittle larger stall to help it out instead of a cam.. since I will be running larger than stock tires the stall may help out more? I used the search feature and alot of ppl said a stall would be the first thing they would do....so I may just go ahead and bite the bullet and do that first then a small cam down the raod.

Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated

fast truck and fast sound don't neccessarily go hand in hand. You will notice a tiny bit that that 206/212 is there but nothing like a cam with no overlap or possitive overlap.

the sound you need over a 212/218, mine is barely noticable. IF you want sound a thuinder 220/220 will be loud, but will be a DOG without the converter

XE 218/222 on 114 ,before/after graph with only changing the cam. This is close to the biggest Cam you can run on a stock converter without problems.Trucks need to idle at 700 or under rpm. This is also an 05 Avalanche.
