if you have a restrictive exhaust a regular split may be better suited for your needs. a reverse split cam is to crutch a poor flowing intake and equalize exhaust and intake flow. This is because the intake is the LS1's restriction. reverse splits are great with cut outs or open headers also.
so if you have headers, you will probably see no gain in a higher exhaust duration and lower intake duration. an increase in the intake duration will hold the intake valve open longer, bringing in a larger charge and creating more power.
but, then you get into, how much intake duration is to much and overlap.
for ex. you heard people telling 01 thunder, that the TR224 may be to big for his 4.8L. I saw a good example of this in the internal section. Holding a cup under the faucette and filling it up. Once the water reaches the top it doesn't keep on filling. It spills over the sides. So in other words, holding the valves open to long, may be overkill. Killing low end tq.

Me too. After I get my gears, Blake's gonna need more than 3.73's w/ 26" tires, 2200 stall, and "Blake Carter Slow Trucks" Dyno-Tuning!!!

I have that cam in my car w/ a higher lift I believe .563 .582 and my car ran 11.91 @ 116 on a drag radial with exhaust and gears full weight. Great cam, can't even tell theres one in my car.....stealthy and lethal to unsuspecting cars that challenge me on the street
