Default improve throttle response?

what mods will improve throttle response? i have a friend with a new maxima and when we race from a dig i kill him. but when we race from a roll the little bit of time it takes he's able to get a car ahead of me and i can't make it up. suggestions please! i hate losing to friends even though i consistently get beaten by another friend...

I think that has more to do with our slow shifting trannys. I have a buddy with a '02 Sierra with the same motor/drivetrain/mods as my truck but he has had some tranny work done. When we race from a stop he jumps about a bumper on me every shift. And if we go from a roll he jumps a fender on me from the get go.

i have heard that e-fans and pulleys will give you a little bit better throttle response. i dont have pulleys but i will tell you in a few days if the fans helped.

I did pulleys and Ultimate PD at the same time and the throttle response is much crisper.

ok i am planning on ordering the UPD at the beginning of the month so i'm glad that'll help. anyone know if they are all good to run NOS through? (for future use) i'd like the look of the clear but i've heard you can only use one of the models for NOS.

Do you guys think the "102017 TPS TEC Throttle Enhancer for all GM engines with round TPS Connector 1992-2002" from Casper Electronics would help throttle response any? Seems like it takes my 1500HD a week to downshift into a lower gear when cruising along at 40-60mph.

im guessing that thing does the same as hypertech does. it says that at 70% it takes over and changes your power enrichment table (basically saying it leans it out at WOT). as for the slow shifting tranny, ls1 edit can help you with this, as well as a shift kit.

in ls1 edit there is an option for "desired shift time" set at .6 for the 1-2 shift, not sure about the 2-1 shift im guessing close to the same. i multiplied it by 80% (i think) and autotap now shows it taking .43 to shift from 1-2 could easily feel the quicker shift

and uhh yeah, 40-60, sucks in our trucks

Here is a link to Brooke's (99RedHawk) NOS setup with a UPD.

Big Red's NOS Setup

If that 13.x second 2500 ain't real impressive, I don't know what is.

I love my UPD, reminds me of the old 4 barrel days around 2200 RPM's.

If my buddy ever brings me his old LT-1 fans, I'll post my opinion of them also. (I know, opinions are like a$$holes, everybody's got 1 )

I'm running a Purolator paper filter now but am going to get a Rush Performance filter soon, www.barrygrant.com . I don't trust K&N filtering capabilties, read to many bad things. Hot Rod mag this month tested 5 filters for flow and power. They were a 14" x 3" round style, there brands were AFE, K&N, Holley, Rush and Purolater. The AFE filter flowed most and the Purolator paper the least, but in the power making dept., they were all fairly close. The Rush filter only outflowed the Purolator filter but it made more hp and tq than any other filter. Hope this helps!

I know you can run Dry nitrous through anything but wet will depend on the materials used on that particular air induction.. Hope that helps.
