injectors off 2003 5.3 not fitting on 2002 5.3?
I have a engine out of a 2002 5.3 silverado that needed new injectors
I got some injectors off a 2003 silverado, but after I install them into the fuel rail and put them on the intake, they are too short and will not plug into the intake
anyone know if there was a huge change in those years?

i dont see why they would not fit , there the same injectors , are you sure that everything is lined up correctly ,1 problem i always have its with a bracket in the rear mount on the driver side when messing around with the injectors i always woulg place it under the fuel rail clip and there for the injectors would seem to short but if you move it back on top it should fix your problem

I'm wondering if someone installed a different intake/fuel rail on this thing? It had LS1 injectors before and they were causing problems, that is why I'm switching back to 5.3

as Aklo said, the LS1 injectors are taller-- but in order to use LS1 injectors you have to space the fuel rail about 1/2" up (using spacers between the fuel rail and the intake manifold mounting points)
these spacers were in place, I removed them and it is still too tall
I hate not knowing what is done to this thing

here are some pictures
all pictures you can see the fuel rail is sitting on top of all 4 mounting points on the intake manifold
is the intake of a denali different from truck engines? Searching google with all the numbers I found on the intake manifold one number came back for a denali intake. Not sure if that would be different. I couldn't find any numbers on the fuel rail that pulled up anything relevant on google

I just popped the hood on our bone stock 2001 Yukon(same as 2002). It has the short truck injectors, same thing as you are trying to use.
Your intake manifold, fuel rails, and fuel crossover are a different style. I see a regulator, and I believe a return line in your pics. Look at the difference in the regulators and crossovers compared to yours.
Did you remove this intake manifold from his truck? Or did he bring it to you loose? I believe that this intake manifold is not what you think it is. Can you post pics of the intake, and the fuel rails? Let's figure out what we're working with.
