Pull them out, lube them up, PUSH.. They should pop in. Some intakes the boss holes are tighter then others.. Better yet compare them to the ones you took out.. from the looks they are the standard delphi shorties..

I'm pretty sure that's not a 2002 truck intake John. Those injectors are way too short to make work.

OP, do your short truck injectors plug into his injector harness?

I removed it from the engine.

It is a Jeep wrangler that a shop installed a 5.3L in. They used a 1998 pcm/harness and installed LS1 injectors to match the harness pigtails and apparently did a lot of really sketchy stuff. The shop then closed and the guy brought the vehicle to me to fix it

The engine ran very strange once it entered closed loop. The engine would rev at a high/low frequency back and forth once throttle was applied. I tried diagnosing it, but never was able to fix it. So I removed the 1998 pcm/harness to install a 5.3 harness/pcm and also swap 5.3 injectors onto it.

This is where I am right now, I removed the intake from the engine and installed the 5.3 injectors onto it and noticed they would not fit

Aklo-- I'm having to swap in a harness that will work with the 5.3 injectors, as before it had a 1998 ls1 pcm/harness w/ LS1 injectors (I'm sure you just read this in what i just posted, but I didn't want to be rude and ignore your post lol)

Definately not a 99-02 manfold/fuel rail setup. Wish I could ID it better for you, but I don't recognize that style of pressure regulator & crossover style. I guess I should pay more attention. Somebody will see it & know...

I caught onto that. I also thought it was in a truck & not a swap into a Jeep until the same post. Knowing that it's a swap, opens up pandora's box. Who knows what conglomeration of parts are in that rig.

Not to worry though, the PT crew will find the answers.

thanks a lot for the help, at least you could tell me it is definitely not the style intake/fuel rail that should be with the motor (stock)

At least I can now tell the owner that he needs to go pick up a 2002 5.3 Silverado intake/fuel rail set up

I wonder why the shop used this setup

Pull one of them injectors out, give me a measurement, I have like 4 sets of stock injectors in the garage.. I will go take a check also.. The only diff I see is that fuel rail is raw in color and not black.. Other then that it looks the same to a 03 back one.. Has the FPR on the side, the little plate that holds the cross over in with the O-ring..

I can't remember ever seeing a FPR with the nipple straight out of it like his. They usually all point up.
