i get 20-21 mpg in my truck on the high way with mods in sig. its not a huge cam but it sounds damn near stock when it warms up with the tune and all but when its cold the whole truck shakes side to side then it warms up and purs like a little kitty until you hit the go peddle then it comes alive.

That's a pretty big cam but you can daily drive it as long as you get it tuned good and you're willing to deal with a ~900rpm idle......you're REALLY gonna need a bigger stall too, otherwise it'll feel like a DOG off the line.

Remember guys....there are alot of different definitions of "daily driver", I used to drive around in a '69 Nova SS with a 400cid motor, dual Holley 600's on a tunnel ram, a Comp 248º/248º .525/.525 110lsa cam, 11.8:1 CR, and TH400 with a 3800rpm stall....and I called it a daily driver for over 2 years....it'd run 11's on street tires and idled like it was missing on 5 out of the 8 cylinders but it WAS my daily driver.

The truck should run fine. Although it depends also alot on who's doing the tuning. You never said what tune you have, but if its a competent tuner, they should be able to get it down, although the fact that it is a mail order tune and not a dyno tune, will make it more difficult, epsecially with a cam of that size in the 5.3. You will definitely need a whole lot more stall than that little 2200 your running. Depends also on what rear gear. I would go at least a 3200 with that cam.

It would defintely be lopey and cool to drive and listen too, might be a little too much for me for a daily driver, but it also depends on your definition of DD. Just back and forth to work would be ok, but short trips and sitting in line at the drive thru window might get kinda tiresome.
