Default Install question about Flexalite 282 e-fans.

I'm in the process of installing Flexalite electric fans and it says for ignition controlled activation...

quote:
Locate the two wires that go into the a/c compressor, and determine which wire activates the clutch compressor when the AC is turned on, this is your signal wire. If the signal wire sends a positive signal, put a splice tap on the positive signal wire with the green wire running back to the VSC, and connect to terminal #8. If the signal wire is negative, then connect to terminal #7.

How in the world do I determine which is the signal wire? How do I determine which is the positive or negative for that matter? Where are these two wires located? I'm assuming down on the AC clutch on the front of the engine? Where's a good place to tap into on the engine bay fuse box for switched ignition to turn the fans on once I turn the key? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Its the dark green wire. The best place to tap into it is the fuse/relay box on the driver side wheelwell. Unsnap it and turn it over, tap into the dark green wire that goes to the A/C relay.

Thanks for the info. Any idea if it's a positive or negative wire? The fan control module has terminals for a positive or negative depending on which the signal wire is.

I think L82gofast is a GM Tech?

A good service manual should show a complete wiring schematic also. I know my Helms do.

That might have something to do with it.
I was just curious because I couldn't find anything online about the info.

Just been there and installed fans before. Check out ALLDATADIY.COM You can buy a subscription with them and they have all the helms manuals on line so you can pull up any part of the service manual for your truck and TSB's as well.

L82gofast that site does look like it is very usefull. Where does everyone get there Helms Manuals at? JSmith did you get your fans working? Thinking about that brand too, insted of LS1 or LT1 fans. Pricey but I think it will be worth it. Maybe some pics on your website when you are done with the install.
