INSTALLED mezeire wp on my 5.3 TRUCK! PICS!
well to everyone who was wondering, it CAN be done! :p
I installed my mezeire water pump onto my truck today, works perfect.
here are pics and details on the install...
requires:
slightly grinding on the rear of the tensioner, (some unneeded material to the casting) Red mark shows where to grind. you will then use 2 bolts to mount the tensioner rather than 3.
using an f body tensioner pulley for an idler pulley (the pulley just to the left of the alternator) the f body pulley is smaller in diameter and gives the needed room to avoid the belt rubing the upper radiator hose inlet.
cutting about 7" off of the upper hose at the wp end, and 2" at the radiator.
Grinding SLIGHTLY on the big bracketry holding the power steering pump etc. there is just a round part of the casting that must be ground flat by removing about 1/8" material.
it wasn't that bad of an install. thank god I had some trans am parts lying around (pulley)
I haven't gotten to drive the truck yet because I have to finish wiring my VSC for my LS1 fans. I will post more results tomorrow.
just as with f bodies the stock stat is removed from the stock housing and a new sbc style will go into the upper hose inlet on the wp.
to those who wondered, it can be done!

Re: INSTALLED mezeire wp on my 5.3 TRUCK!
the only thing required to buy other than the wp and stat, will be the f body tensioner pulley
the hypertech 160 stat is pn# 1000

Re: INSTALLED mezeire wp on my 5.3 TRUCK!
the top pic shows where to grind the tensioner to clear the wp. the stock truck tensioner then works perfect and bolts right up using 2 bolts rather than 3.
the second pic shows the F body tensioner pulley on the left and the truck idler pulley on the right.
the f body pulley is smaller in diameter and gives the NEEDED room to clear the radiator hose inlet.
