Default installing an inline pump

I've installed an inline fuel pump from magnacharger on the truck but I have a question about tapping into the stock fuel pump wire. I'm told it comes with a trigger that t taps the stock pump wire. The magnacharger instructions are kinda confusing. First where is the stock pump wire needed to tap and what does this trigger look like to tap it with. Any help is apreciated

Find the wiring harness in the frame rail that runs to the tank. Get a volt meter and with some one turning the key on and off as you probe the wires. Find a 12 volt wire that turns on with the key but turns off after a few seconds when the pump turns off.

As far as what the tap looks like, are you asking about the connector that you tap it with? Those are usually those scotch-lock style connectors with a blade connector that goes on to the inline fp wire, and the blue connector with a metal insert that crimps around the factory wire. (most of the scotch-locks that I've seen have a blade with a pink covering, and a blue connector with the metal insert in it.)

I found the fuel pump wire in the underhood fuse box and tapped into that. Mounted the relay to the outside of the fuse box.

The wire you are looking for is the gray wire that runs from under the under hood fuse box. You have to remove the fender brace behind the box and pull the cover off from around the box. It is only held on by two tabs on the side facing the engine. Use the gray wire to trigger the relay and the inline pump will turn on and off with the stock in-tank pump. You t-tap into the gray wire and use it to signal/trigger the relay to your in-line pump. Use a separate 12V wire from stud 1 or 2 with an in-line fuse to power the relay and ground the relay to the firewall, alternator bracket or frame.
