Default Installing LS9 head gaskets and ARP studs ?

After pushing coolant on my LQ4 I decided to install ARP studs and LS9 gaskets.

What's the best way to clean the heads and block?

Gasket scraper or a die grinder with a Scotch-Brite disc on it. Just be careful with both. Watched a friend but a nice divot in a nice 243 head trying to clean it up.

i think it's 3m that makes some plastic disks to scrape gasket material. they work awesome and wont hurt the metal since it's just plastic.

I would just use a scraper and a scotch brite pad.

I sharpened the edge of a paint scraper and used a Scotch-Brite pad dipped in engine degreaser.

this is what i'm talking about. works 10x better than a razor and also 10x faster.

took me less than 5 minutes to clean gaskets with plastic wheel, and another 5 to clean pistons with a steel brush.

those 3m yellow roloc wheels are pretty expensive.

I just used a scotchbrite type wheel on the block. I was more careful on the heads.
