Default installing radix this weekend, couple ?????

looks pretty straightforward but I'm unsure of a couple things...

1. Is it necessary to use the foam? I guess I can install it after the fact if the unit is too loud but I'm interested to hear what others have done.

2. How exactly does one use this fuel disconnect tool? I'm holding it up to where it is to be used and I can't figure it out. I won't be getting far until i figure this gizmo out.

3. Can I use my volant filter and box or should I just stick with the stock? Not a big deal but just curious.

wish me luck

1: foam isn't necessary
2: The skinny end of the disconnect tool goes into the silver collar of the fuel lines.......press it in with a little force and it pushes out the locking tabs inside the collar, you may need to pull the fuel line forward while pushing in on the tab
3: don't know personally but i've heard the volant is compatible, hell, might as well use it if you paid the money for it imo!

oh, mine's an 01, so i'm assuming it's the same fuel line fitting

yeary got all the answers about right on.

The Volant does work with the RADIX, it just takes a little force to fit, but it fits fine. The bellow looking thing it completely squeenched, but it fits.

thanks guys, figured out the fuel disconnect on my own just wasn't familiar with it but it's easy.

I worked for a couple hours this evening and am at the point where the new manifold/charger is ready to be dropped in but I'll wait until tomorrow. Very easy install so far. A couple of minor issues:

- my snap ring pliers are too big for the fuel manifold c-clip, will need to run out for
smaller set tomorrow.
-missing o-ring for same fuel manifold...maybe I lost it, maybe it wasnt' in the kit
- directions are little out there at times but nothing I couldn't figure out.

Anyway I intend on finishing it tomorrow but I plan on taking my time with it so as to not lose my patience ; ).

I talked to Bryan from pcm4less and he said to just install the superchips program over his program for a few days until I can meet with him next week. We live within an hour of each other. I had my doubts about this but checked with him twice so I'm giving it a go.

Otherwise I'll be riding the motorcycle to work come tuesday. I hope the neighbors don't mind vance and hines at 5 am

That small o-ring I think you're talking about is probably still in the pressure regulator hole in the OEM manifold. There isn't a new one in the kit, unless they changed something, but it's something you will reuse. It's very small and VERY critical. Don't put it together without it. If you need a new one, I would go to a hydraulic shop and get one. It's not the same one that's in the o-ring box all the parts store has, it's green cause it's a different color.
