What all is involved in swapping intake gaskets? I have alot of problems and they all seem to be pointing to the intake gaskets.
Easy swap?

There is no need to do most of that stuff. You should be able to pull the bolts holding the intake to the motor and lift the intake enough to unsnap the old gaskets and snap in the new ones. I could do it in 15 minutes if the engine was cold. (but I have had the motor in and out of my truck 10 or more times)

dont bother draining the coolant leave the by pass hoses on you will lose minimal coolant if you loosen the cap. little messy but for me time is money.
also ask your dealer to get gasket for z-motor 5.3 they are redesigned gm is replacing when they run out of stock. new gasket is green rubber in black plastic
