Will the LS6 manifold even work with the truck front drive accessories? I thought the idler pulley or something was directly in the path of the inlet?
I've heard of good gains from the TBSS intake and it's what I'll be running when I stuff the cammed 5.7 into my Tahoe. It's also got a standard 90mm TB opening. The stock TBSS injectors are also supposed to be good for around 400rwhp also.

LS6 intake flows more, and moves the power band higher.
The LS1 and the LS6 intake are not the same.
I can get a bare NNBS/TBSS intake for $163 new.

dyno tests over and over again have proven that to be incorrect. this was also brought up in GM high-tech yrs ago as well

Regardless, I think the LS6 is out. If I'm going to have to pay almost $400 for it, when, for another $100 my options vastly improve.

those are all going basically to the ls6. theres members on this site that went from the 78mm truck intake to a fast and lost. Facts are there if you want to believe otherwise keep drinking the koolaid....the stock ls6 loses KPA above 5500 rpms. its more a restriction then many realize. its a good intake for a stock or mild cam ls1 but isn't a choice for high rpms or trucks. the car intakes just suck, GM high tech even mentioned if they could fit a GMT800 intake under hood it would of picked up everywhere. the GMT900 is a improvement over the 800.... track times and dyno graphs don't lie

Just like when picking a cam, you need to pick one that's going to match the way you drive, some report 10-20HP gains on the LS6 intake vs the LS1 intake, some say it was a waste of time.
With the knowledge that was handed down about the high rise intake really being for the 4+ inch bore engines, the GMT900 it more the way I'm leaning now. It matches well with my mods, and is significantly cheaper than all of the other options. I wouldn't mind trying out that mid-rise Holley, but like Gadgetized said, heat soak could become an issue, as well as I'm not sure how much I'd like drilling and tapping the aluminum intake for the throttle cable bracket.

Gonna suggest what basically no one has. Keep your stock intake. You will get very minor gains with any changes unless you make bigger changes. However, those 243s will be perfectly port matched for a TBSS/NNBS intake. IMO will need to be making more power and needing more flow to see good results.
