JBA cat back Evol system on 99-01 5.3L?
Has anyone installed a JBA cat back system on their truck? I really like the sound on their site for the 5.3L but it is a 2004 and they list a different muffler for the 2001 setup, there is a note that it is a K&N muffler, rest is JBA. Their tech help hasn't been able to answer my questions if the 2001 sounds like the 2004. Really don't want to drop that kind of money without knowing what the sound is going to be like. Anyone? Thanks.

Kind of courious, what's the difference between 99-01 and 02-04?
I've noticed that single side exhaust's show a split in years and part #'s, but dual rear kits don't. I would guess that the only difference could possibly be a different exhaust hanger setup for the stock pipe that single rear kits would reuse and other style kits wouldn't.
Basicly, I don't understand why it would need a different muffler or sound any different.
Guess i'm going to have to look under my trucks and check this theory out.

re. silver2004
I am clueless as well, if you can find any differences I sure would appreciate it if you would let me know. I even asked if they could put a 2004 muffler in a 2001 kit and they said that they don't have time to do "custom" setups. I am not aware of any exhaust system differences, but subscribe to your theory that there may be a hanger difference.

The rear hanger is farther back on my 2004 and the exhaust looks like it takes less of a bend around the axle, still to wet to crawl underneath and for a better look. The rear hanger is mounted behind the round crossmember on the 2004 and infront of it on the 2000.

I'm with you on the sound bite...but I have scoured every site and asked the factory guys what the deal is and can't seem to get anywhere. Maybe I volunteer to be the one to jump in first and report back if it is as bad sounding in person as on the clip...then demand 10% commission on every one of 'em JBA sells!
