Default JBA Headers Shorties, How much to pay for install ?

Before i hear the i should of not bought them ,should of got the LT. I live California and in order to pass smog i need legal headers and these will do fine. I would of love LT,but this is my best option.

Now I will be getting them tomorrow. I asked the shop that order them for me how much to install he said $500 and if i want 3 year warranty in case a bolt or gasket goes bad. It would be another $100, I asked if thats the best they can do he dropped the price to 460 install and plus the 100 if i want warranty.

Is the 460-500 quote too much ?

Thanks in advance .

Truck is a 2006 1500 Vmax

If you are slightly mechanically inclined than you can install these yourself. They are really easy to install, the hardest part is taking the manifold bolts out. Spray them down with a lot of penetrating spray. Can't think of the name of the one that eats a styrofoam cup up, but it works good. Let set for 5 and then spray again and they should come off easy. The problem with a shop doing it they might just break a bolt in the head and you will not know it.

P'Blaster is sold in stores, but the best stuff I've ever used is Kroil. We use it for everything on a turbine.

If you find Kroil then get it, it's good ****. If not PBblaster will work as its more readily available.

Save your money. Im not very mechanically inclined and i did mine with a lil help! Like these guys said. Use penetrating oil and pull the manifold bolts while the motors nice and warm. They come out fairly easy that way! Buy more parts with your 460$!

Default JBA Shorties

I did mine in my garage. No matter how much PB Blaster I used, I still had to grind off one header bolt on the driver's side. Other than that, it was fairly easy. Certainly no $500 job!
I understand the smog situation. Where in CA are you?

How many miles do you have? My truck at the time of the swap had 140k on it. And I didn't break one bolt. They should be aluminum heads so do them cold, that's what someone told me or I read it somewhere.
