Default junkyard lq4

Found a lq4 in a junkyard for $300 its a complete block no heads or anything up top it has 150,000 miles is this a good deal? what all should I look for as far a damage wise and what kind of heads should I go with if I do buy this motor?

Not terrible if it comes with the oil pan and covers, stock 317 heads can be found pretty easy.....I would ask if it has been sitting outside, if it has been with no heads theres a good chance the cylinders are pitted.

This block could not be saved, pitting went way beyond max bore.

it really depends on how bad it is. you won't be able to know until you see it and can inspect. it might be able to clean up fine or it may be hopeless, either is just as likely.
