Default Just got my Nelson tune with track times!

Well guys I made it down to HRP today for some quick(well, not that quick ) runs down the 'ol 1/4 mi. With my truck, and only a upd cai I ran a 15.122@88.58 w/2.20 60 ft. That was full weight, and actually a bit more because of my helper springs and rear sway bar. Weight was 5440 lbs with me(165 lbs) in it. Took out my headlight and gained a tenth and a mph running a 15.032@89.31 w/2.178 60', and a 15.010@89.48 w/2.196 60'. I really wanted some 14's so I took off my tailgate, spare, and jack. I didn't think that they weighed that much, but I weighed my truck after and the weight was 5270 lbs. I took off a full 170 lbs by taking off the spare, jack, and the tailgate! That got me down to a 14.879@89.73 w/2.164 60'.
Then Allen Nelson was there, and he was doing some tuning, so I got a tune from him After the tune I ran 2 more times: first was a 14.578@92.14 w/2.169 60', and the 2nd was a 14.576@92.30 w/2.172 60'. This was without ANY learning time. He flashed it, and I drove straight to the staging lanes. Truck feels completely different, and much better. I hope it really does keep getting better like everyone says after their tune! I am stoked! This truck has already gotten a faster time that my old supercharged 96 chevy with a 350! Also my truck might have been a bit quicker, but I had to take off my LT1 electric fans because the controller I was using freaking fried last week

BTW, it was great meeting all of you guys who came out! It was a pleasure to hang out with yall.

i was also out there and saw Nelson tuning on that thing. very nice truck by the way. i was thinking of getting him to tune mine also while he was there. but i was still able to pull a 14.96 @ 91.87 mph with only my diablo sport predator. i would love to see the difference his tune would make

Congrats on the tune and the times. I was wondering what you had run. I left before Allen tuned your SS. Great gains.

Thanks guys! I can't imagine what it will be like when it finishes learning because it feels so much faster already! I think that I need to take another road trip to make it hurry up and learn

Allen does amazing work, with his tune and only ASM headers, UPD intake, and a dynomax bullet I can roast my 42s which weight in at 165 EACH mounted. I do have 5.13 gears but still, for a truck the size and weight of mine its not slow.

Good times and glad you could make it out. It was nice meeting you. And on a side note hold on to that girl you got there, you don't see to many women at the track that can drive like her and are even willing to go to the track. Once again Congrats man !!!
