Welding in some flanges would be the best way to go but if you can't, band clamp style exhaust clamps work very well.

Those accuseal clamps are okay, I chose the walker/dynomax double bolt stainless band clamps from summit. It's well worth the money, you'll need 2 of these:

Well worth the 14 bux, trust me. As for gaskets, get some OEM gaskets. The ones that come with the headers are okay, but I've heard much better results with using the stock gaskets. Another thing you might be interested in is getting some O2 safe RTV silicone and sealing the slip connections with it. It's cheap and worth it to not have leaks. Welding is okay, but when you have to remove the ORY it's such a PITA to cut it out and when you re-fab it into place it's never the same.

The only other notes I have is that I put in the passenger side from the bottom and the driver from the top. I just had to move that electrical bracket (one with red box) out of the way.

Another piece of advice is, if you are planning on reusing the factory bolts, clean the threads off with a wire brush and squirt a little WD-40 on the threads. Mine had some crap on the threads and made it really hard to screw in. After I cleaned the threads up they screwed all the way down with just my fingers....

PS blaster for the bolts a couple hours before you start on em, especially the ones at the factory header collector. You don't need to undo the steering column, just jack your truck up and you'll be able to get them in from down below. If I remember correctly the passenger side had to go waaaaay up to be able to get it in there. I also used those summit clamps and they worked great.

I am in the same boat as you kw05silverado, I ordered the Pacesetters and am waiting for them to come. I've read probably every post on this site and others about installing them cause i'm so anxious to put them in! I see some people had to unbolt the steering shaft, others say no problem. Others unbolted the crossmember. I think im going to try and weld some flanges on my headers, i think that will make it be a lot nicer. Did you get the coated ones?
