Anybody using the Model 77 kit? Notice any additional gains from a FIPK?

no not really, it actually makes my exhaust a little smoother or mellow but I also have a descreened MAF.

The CAI makes your exhaust smoother?

I have the FIPK and i really dont care much for it. It pulls 10x the hot air the stock airbox does. The only difference i noticed with the FIPK was my truck was more sluggish around town in the summer. The under hood heat gets well into the 200* range and thats all the air the engine breaths from till you get moving.

I removed that bottom plate that my stock airbox was sitting on. This allows it to pull cooler air from underneath the truck also..... or should, in theory.

I guess mine is the Gen 2 FIPK--got it about 5 mos. ago--truck seems to have a little more power (no numbers). Makes a nice intake sound, like a 4 bbl (without the transition-to-secondaries sound) . A friend here at work has a '00 5.3 with it and a cat back through a Hooker muffler--says he can't hear the intake sound.
K&n said it should give 5-8% rwhp gain...don't know!

I had a FIPK 2, it made a nice sound, went back to a stock box with K&N and noticed my temps went up a tad, I now have a Volant. I haven't noticed any gains but I did notice my temps drop about 10*.

I've ran one before and plan on purchasing another one.
Ive used the FIPK, the UPD, and a Volant, and must say I like the FIPK the best
