I agree, that's why I deleted that part from the quote Guess that I should have specified that I wouldn't clean it that often either...actually I've only cleaned mine once in the last 11 years lol. If I were to do it as maintenance, I'd go maybe every two years or 30k, whichever came first.

I should have specified that I do somewhat extended oil change intervals, so yes, every other oil change may be to often. In fact, I don't clean it that often either unless I just oiled my filter. I just think that linking it to some other maintainence item helps to remember to do it every once in a while. The tech guy at Volant said he cleans his every oil change, but I thought at the time that was far to often. I do like having some sort of schedule for it though.

Probably gives me the same hp increase a nice car wash does...
