I went to K and N's website and found one that looks like a black plastic pipe that went into an open box. It used the cone filter. Are we talking about the same thing?

Edit: sorry, the tube is either polished or satin looks like. Here is a web address. http://www.martelbrothers.com/custom...V8+F%2FI&type=

This same unit goes for 315.99 at autozone's website.

thanks

The one you linked here is the 77 series, which I believe has a metal intake tube; mine's plastic. The Autozone part number on mine is 57-3021-1. Just a side note, but O'reileys auto parts quoted me $310 and Advance Auto parts quoted me $279. Autozone had this one labeled on the shelf at $189, but they quoted me $229 on the phone. They told me they quoted me worng and it was supposed to be $189 in their computer.

Man, intakes are INCREDIBLY overpriced.

I've been toying around with the idea of trying another... but...

I will say that I felt very little for HP or TQ gains. It dose's sound bad ***.
It is not worth the money for the HP and TQ gains. It is worth the reusable air filter. Hp and TQ gains can be very deceiving by sound. Remember If you can't make it fast make it loud.

I felt better throttle response, and i did pick up some more grunt out of the motor for sure. I think it was worth it. I got the chrome fipk with k&n filter and heat shroud, it's made by MAC performance, and i got it for 160+shipping.
